While I am not a Star Wars fanatic, I had to do this scavenger hunt. Not only does it involve travel, but it's the search for something unreal and finding it real that's the reward. Being somewhere you see only on the silver screen and actually finding and touching it is an adventure like no other. You know the solid white doors in the movie? They feel not like hard, smooth plastic like you see on screen; rather, they feel like the cubed padding inside a Riddell football helmet.
Searching for Star Wars sites means more than just land cruising through the countryside. Sometimes, you have to take to the skies, just as George Lucas did in searching for that perfect spot. From above, you can see oases and even ruins that have been buried by the sands of time.
There was a time when I turned on the shower and red water (think 'the Nile ran with blood') came, at least for a couple seconds. I found a peddler that tried to sell me a lamp, which I did rub. In a land where fiction meets reality, a genie just may pop out. |
