Day 7: Lucerne Sightseeing At Leisure

Thursday, May 30, 2002

Drove in a luxurious bus with red cushions and tray tables through Alps to Lucerne. Sat next to someone with a minor cough. Was she victim zero for the Contiki cough?

I can give you a discount for credit card. The exchange rate is 1.52.

A place to buy watches... Won Kyle's tourist shopper of the year award...

Oh please, I'm dead. What are you expecting me to say? "This is the most moving piece of art" -Mark Twain
Here's the Chapel Bridge. There was a lot of bells and explosions... to celebrate some religious holiday. No shopping today.

However, there were a limited number of open shops selling Swiss Army watches, knives, and chocolates.

Is he taking a picture of us? What? That guy... Mom will love a picture of this. The swans are in the way. The Chapel Bridge was an obvious photo opportunity.
Went to the Swiss Folklore Luncheon. <Use the 'Right Arrow' below to get more details.> Wandered around town with Steve, Meri, and Joe. Discussed Steve & Meri's Hong Kong trip options over ice cream.
Walked to the wall north of Lucerne. Watched little gypsy girl run with lady's wallet.
Boarded a boat for cruise of Lake Lucerne. Saw hot air balloon slowly go up and down.

Look, there he goes again. This is pretty good. What a day! I'm beat.

Too early for dinner. Went out to take pictures around our hotel in Engelberg at the base of Mt. Titlus.
